The Chamonix Dialysis Center, or Vallée Blanche Hemodialysis Center, which was opened in 1987 is in the very heart of Chamonix, at 183, Route Couttet-Champion. This Center which is recognised by the French Insurance System is owned by a well-known compagny, AVITUM , a compagny from B.Braun Laboratories INC. This Compagny is the owner of an other Dialysis Center - for vacationers only - at Antibes, on the South French Riviera. The Chamonix Dialysis Center is run by Philippe NICOUD M.D., who is also the head of the Nephrology Unit at the Chamonix Hospital nearby. Dominique LATAILLADE M.D. is the second nephrologist in the Unit and Simona BOERIU M.D. the third.

The Dialysis Unit of Chamonix

The Center provide dialysis and care of renal patients whatever their needs, in the conjonction with the Hospital's Nephrology Unit.

The Center is able to deal with all forms of Dialysis ( Hemodialysis, Hemodiafiltration On Line, Peritoneal Dialysis - CAPD - ......) and is staffed by experienced and qualified staff, several languages are spoken.

The day to day running in the Unit is led by Mrs Therese RIEZ - Renal Chief Nurse -, assisted by 13 Renal Nurses, 5 auxillaries and a technical assistant responsible for the machines, Mr Patrick Fontbonne.

Since 1987, the center has cared for many patients - mostly of French origin - but also from various European countries and North-America.

Currently, 55 locals patients are on dialyis care, the majority of them on On Line Hemodiafiltration.

Others who use the center are kidney recipients who need a follow up in terms of blood and urine analysis or general supervision.
